Medical
Frail Care Centre
Wilgers Retirement Village primarily aims to offer independent living to its residents. We believe that, if possible, residents should live and be cared for in their own homes for as long as possible, but age inevitably catches up with us all. To deal with these daily age-related health issues, we have a fully equipped frail care centre with highly skilled and experienced staff manning the unit. Home care and assisted living can be arranged with the Village Sister. She will help with appointing one of our existing staff, but she may also approve a private carer upon request.
Village Doctor
There are consulting rooms on-site, with a doctor in attendance once a week, by appointment only.
Village Sister
Our resident sister provides additional health care at our morning clinic, dealing with everyday matters such as injections, blood pressure and glucose tests, basic wound care, phlebotomy services, etc. She is also available for scheduled home visits and medication management.
24-Hour Ambulance
There is an ambulance available on the premises 24/7.
Health & Beauty
Beauty Salon
Catering for both ladies and gents, the beauty salon offers a vast selection of treatments and nail care from Monday to Friday.
Hair Salon
Catering for both ladies and gents, the hair salon will take care of all your styling and grooming requirements from Monday to Friday.
Safety & Security
Security Systems
We have a “Zero Incident” goal, ensuring all-round protection of our residents and pro-active maintenance of our systems. All units are equipped with a panic button that registers both at security and at the nursing station in Frail Care, offering rapid response to residents from the security and medical staff during emergencies.
A service provider maintains continuous observation from a central control room and will notify the guardroom on site, should an intrusion alarm be received. An armed response company is contracted to provide back-up should a security breach occur.
Electric Fences
Wall-top electrified fences are affixed around the entire village perimeter. The system is tested weekly and regularly maintained by a qualified service provider.
Camera Surveillance
A videoFied camera network with voice challenge functionality is deployed across the village, ensuring continuous tracking of potential intruders.
Access Control
Both entrance gates have access control in place, with guards performing additional scheduled patrols throughout the village at night.
House & Home
Solar Power
A significant cost-saving initiative through the installation of a 198kWp solar power system at no additional cost to the HOA. Since commissioning the system in January 2021, the electricity cost for the common property has been reduced by half.
Backup Generator
A 200Kva generator provides power during load shedding to the Service Centre and passages in the apartment building as well as the Kitchen, Frail Care, Lifts, Security, the Beauty Salon, Hair Salon, and the Laundry.
Cleaning services are on either a fixed or ad-hoc basis from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). Residents are required to negotiate service terms and fees with the service provider independently.
Private lawns are mowed and trimmed once a week in the growing season and as required during the winter months. Additional services over and above this can be negotiated with a garden team member independently.
Laundry Service
For those who do not or cannot do their own laundry, an on-site laundry service is available at a fee from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). Laundry can be collected and returned to your unit at an additional fee.
In-house Maintenance
An on-site maintenance team is ready and waiting to take care of day-to-day common area repairs and maintenance needs.
Kiosk
Frozen meals and day to day grocery items are available from the kiosk.
Covered Parking
Safe additional undercover parking for caravans and trailers is also available to residents at a monthly rental fee.
Water
Three 5,000 litres Jojo water storage tanks supply drinking water to the kitchen, Frail Care and residents during shortages.

Committee
The village has an active social committee that organises various fun and engaging events, ranging from fun-walks, to baking pancakes, to visiting performers.
Church
Services
Various services for residents and staff are held weekly on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons.
Recreation
Hall
Planning a birthday party or wedding anniversary celebration? Why not make use of our facilities. Simply make a booking and arrange with our kitchen operator, who will be happy to cater for your requirements.
Dining
Hall
A gathering place where breakfast and lunch is served. Meals may be ordered as sit-down or take-away. Residents with mobility problems can have the meals delivered to their doorstep at a small fee.
Library
Our library caters for all our avid readers, with an extensive range of books and magazines of your choice which you can read at your leisure in a comfortable chair.

Amenities
Arrange a “lekker” braai for you and yours, or join one of our social activities round the fire.
Minibus
Service
Use our free minibus service, operating from the Service Centre. It visits local shopping centres three times per week. Residents need to book in advance at the reception desk.
Seniorobics
These aerobics classes, designed for seniors, are held every Thursday morning at no cost. Stay in shape, have fun and meet your fellow-residents!
Connectivity
Private PO Boxes
All residents have the convenience of a free private post box in the service centre.
Internal Phone System
Each unit is fitted with an internal phone from which all internal numbers can be phoned at no cost.
Wi-Fi Hotspots
Each unit has a fibre-optic connection. Sign up with your service provider of choice for your own account.
DSTV
Connections have been installed in all apartments. Residents just need to sign up with DSTV to utilize the service of their choice.
